Sustainable Homes

Aboriginal Sustainable Homes, designs, constructs, and project manages the building of culturally sensitive sustainable homes that will not only stand the test of time but are compatible with the cultural norms and practices of indigenous communities.  We further educate individuals within the indigenous community in the field of construction which provides them with future employment and career opportunities.

Indigenous Owned & Operated

ASH provide a number of services which currently include the design and construction for indigenous sustainable homes that are culturally sensitive. Our program provides project management services along with an education program that is designed to offer a pathway for Indigenous people to enter the construction industry and provide employment and career opportunities. Our focus is to address the major issues within the indigenous community: Housing, Education, Employment and Health.

How We Work

Our Holistic view as an organisation, is to focus on community needs via meaningful consultation with Indigenous leaders.  We do not aim to just build a house. We are driven by passion and have the means to create education and employment opportunities within the Indigenous communities we work.   To achieve this, we take the time to understand the needs and wants of the community and then implement tailored education programs to deliver confident trainees who we can offer work to on our construction sites and permit, sometimes for the first time, the experience of self-reliance.

Our Vision

ASH’s vision is to combine life education with practical building industry skills to provide the building blocks for indigenous individuals to experience self-worth, self-confidence, and ultimately, autonomy.

Our Goal is to see Indigenous people establish skills within the construction industry, while retaining their connection to country and respect for their individual Indigenous history and culture.

Our Mission

  • To Engage and educate young Indigenous people
    using our mentorship program.
  • Work with indigenous elders and communities to design and construct culturally sensitive sustainable homes
  • Work with local communities to transition indigenous youth from our starter program into our trainee program
  • Give indigenous people the skills, mindset and encouragement to believe in themselves enough to see they can start their own businesses to service their local communities and beyond.
